So... I had to take a break. It wasn't planned but it happened. Hurricane damage to our home and an attempt to make the most use of my work during work time and dealing some family issues lead me a away from my computer and study time much more than I wanted to be.
With that said I plan to go back to the Holiday Hack, but first wanted to put more effort into my Network+ studies. I've been working on the Cisco Aspire Network Game, but I felt like it was only loosely teaching me what I wanted to know. I felt like an IT employee (installing computers, routers, switches, listening to AI complaints, and dealing with service contracts). All this work included no network configuration, architecture planning or network security scenarios. Maybe that will happen later, but today the current situation isn't helpful. So I will spend more time working on a class I just started in Udemy. The instructor is David Bombal and he does a class for Cisco Packet tracer labs called Cisco CCNA Packet Tracer Ultimate labs: CCNA 200-301 labs. I figured that this would give me practical experience with all the subjects I complained about earlier, and help me lead off into the CCNA cert. First day was setting up and configuring Cisco routers and switches.
I also spent some time in a Lucidchart Workshop learning how to use Lucidchart. So far I feel like Lucidchart is a great tool, I just would like to know how we are going maintain our level of detail in our diagrams while using it. I'll have some questions for my lead, but will come later.
